MapCam South Pole Flyby
This image was captured by OSIRIS-REx’s MapCam imager on Dec. 17, 2018 as the spacecraft flew under Bennu’s south pole during the mission’s Preliminary Survey of the asteroid. The image has an exposure time of 9.3 milliseconds and was taken from a distance of about 8 miles (12 km) while the spacecraft was traveling away from the asteroid.
