Word of the Week: Shape Model
A 3D rendering of an asteroid’s form and surface features. Depending on the data available, the shape model can be highly detailed or roughly estimated.
The current Bennu shape model is based on remote radar observations. More detailed shape models will be produced once OSIRIS-REx closely surveys the asteroid.
