Word of the Week: Dust Plumes

Clouds of rock particles and other small debris that are sometimes released from small bodies in space.

OSIRIS-REx will search for dust plumes asteroid Bennu. This information will help the team protect the spacecraft from being damaged by debris, and will shed light on Bennu’s dynamic history.
