
View of Sample Site Kingfisher from the North
This image shows an overhead view of the small crater where sample site Kingfisher is located on asteroid Bennu. The crater is visible in the lower right corner of the image. The image was taken by the PolyCam camera on NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on April 12, 2019, from a distance of 1.7 miles (2.8 km). The field of view is 130 ft (39.7 m). The image was obtained during Flyby 6B of the mission’s Detailed Survey: Baseball Diamond phase. When the image was taken, the spacecraft was over the northern hemisphere, pointing PolyCam south and to the west. This image is rotated and Bennu’s north is located at the bottom of the frame.
