Angled View of Sample Site Kingfisher
This image shows an angled view of the region surrounding sample site Kingfisher on asteroid Bennu. The site is located in the small crater visible in the central left of the image. The image was taken by the PolyCam camera on NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on March 28, 2019, from a distance of 2.2 miles (3.5 km). The field of view is 161 ft (49.2 m). The image was obtained during Flyby 4A of the mission’s Detailed Survey: Baseball Diamond phase. When the image was taken, the spacecraft was over Bennu’s southern hemisphere, pointing PolyCam north over the equator.
