Close-Up View of Sample Site Kingfisher
This image shows a view of the area surrounding sample site Kingfisher on asteroid Bennu. The site is located in the small crater left of the image’s center. The image was taken by the PolyCam camera on NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on March 21, 2019, from a distance of 2.2 miles (3.5 km). The field of view is 158 ft (48.1 m). The image was obtained during Flyby 3 of the mission’s Detailed Survey: Baseball Diamond phase. When the image was taken, the spacecraft was over the equator, pointing PolyCam slightly north.
